The solar powered plane that circled the globe

Solar plane circling the globe

Solar Impulse is the only airplane of perpetual endurance.  It can fly day and night on solar power, without a drop of fuel.  Our challenge is to attempt the First Round-The-World Solar Flight in 2015.  Solar Impulse took off for its sixth leg of this flight, from Chongqing to Nanjing, China, on 20 April 2015. Bertrand Piccard flew 1344km over 17 hours and 22 minutes.  They plan a continuous five-day and five-night flight between Nanjing and Hawaii.–the-first-roundtheglobe-pvpowered-flight-20150425-1mss4g.html
